| I heard the most pathetic thing yesterday in class. We were talking about essay topics, and it wasn't even really that incredibly abstract of an idea. We had to think of a 'subgroup' that we either were or are in, and write a 2 page paper about how the group is falsely stereotyped. She just couldn't think of what to write about, because its oh so hard, and eventually was just like 'ugh, I don't care.' I find this so incredibly disheartening because, at the crossroads where we decide if the next 50 years are going to be educated, intellectual or trailer-trash highschool graduate dumb, people are taking the obvious shortcut and going straight for the latter. I for one refuse to remain my high-school self for the rest of my life, and anybody that's taking college for granted is simply insulting me and anybody else that is here to learn. Partying is a piece of the pie, yea, and so is growing up, but in the end, those were just part of the learning experience anyway.
In summation, fuck all you kids that think college is a throwaway piece of your life.
